Auto Mute Speakers on locking Windows
This is as the title says a little piece of software that automatically mutes your Windows PC when you lock it.
This is the description given by the readme file included in the setup:
Mute on Lock is a tiny resident utility that sits in the system tray and monitors your session: when you are locking your Windows workstation, it mutes the sound of your speakers. Do not want to bother your colleagues by sounds of instant messenger, reminders or leaving music when you are out? Use Mute on Lock and forget about this problem! Moreover, with the help of this program you can quickly mute or unmute the system sound by double-clicking the tray icon or using an optional hot key.

Create a “Switch Between Windows” Shortcut in Windows 7
Since Windows Vista, Microsoft has added a flashy and more cool looking version of ALT-TAB aka window switching. It’s a 3D Aero animation. But unfortunately, the keyboard shortcut for this is the Windows Key + Tab. Needless to say this is an uncomfortable shortcut, which is why ALT-TAB is more frequently used.
But, you can create a shortcut that allows you to use this function with one click. Click below to read the whole thing.
Relocate Windows 7 profile directory!
This is a little piece of software that allows to you to relocate the location of the Windows User Profile directory.
The description on their site says:
Profile Relocator is a step-based application that allows the re-locating of the Windows Users profile directory. Once re-located, any created profiles will appear in the new location in their entirety. The advantage to doing this allows profiles to be stored in a location that doesn’t reside on the system drive, ensuring that profile data isn’t compromised as a result of re-installation or system failure.
A screenshot:
Also, they’ve also warned to not relocate already existing profiles meaning that do this right after you install/reinstall your OS.
According to their site:
Please note that this application should ideally be used on new installations of Windows; PR should be used, and then the final profile should be created. See the included documentation for step-by-step information. PR will not move existing profiles as this can be dangerous.
Download the program [here].
Happy downloading!
