Summer and broken stuff
So, I’m slightly pissed off at the moment (more like WTFRAGE). Why is that?
1) Above average temperatures in Toronto. We need a thunderstorm to cool things down. Fast.
2) My desktop PC is out of commission for about two weeks or so while the GPU gets replaced. What does this mean? No more owning noobs in TF2 until the end of July, no more shooting zombies in the face in L4D2. :(
What happened to the GPU?
Basically the cooling system aka the fan died. I realized this when L4D2 started getting horrible framerates. I open up GPU-Z and the sensor is reporting 104 degrees celsius. Ouch! I open up the case to check and the fan was not running at all.
Apparently the warranty for that PC expires in 3 days. Kind of cutting it close there.

Its friggin’ hot. And my PC is dead.
Change title of active windows in Windows 7
This is a very useful little program that allows you to change the title of active windows in Windows 7.
It’s called (duh!) Windows Title Changer.

You just select the window title you want to change title of, type in a new title and click Change title.
Voila, the title of the window has been changed.
NOTE - This software works with active windows which means windows that are not minimized.

Create a ISO file of Windows updates!
This is a small program called WSUS Offline Update that let’s you download Windows updates for Windows 2000/XP/Vista/7 (both 32 and 64-bit versions). The best thing about this program is that it allows you download the updates and makes a ISO file for you. This is great if you setup a lot of PCs and want to have all the updates handy. It also allows you to save the updates on a flash drive so you can carry it around it with you.
This program requires no installation, it’s just a small zip file.
